On CPIndex, the things a counsellor typically wants to search for will be in one place, such as finding employment, placements, supervisors, signposting, private practice resources, a venue to work in, CPD and training. CPIndex gathers what we need in a single place, and these features are just the start of what we plan to offer.

You will also be able to use CPIndex as a platform to showcase your own innovations, reaching other counsellors as potential customers for your offers such as groups, CPD or therapy tools.

Yes. When enough counsellors in an area have profiles, the algorithms will be attracted to the density of counsellors coming together in a single site. Connecting with clients will come with time, and in the meantime, you can enjoy everything else that CPIndex has to offer.

Our bio-builder helps you create a high-quality profile in as little as 10 minutes depending on how much information you give. You get your own profile page, a shareable web presence that contains your direct contact details, and it is free for a basic listing. If you have no interest in being visible to the public, you can choose to appear only on the ‘for-professionals’ side of the site and use it to connect to your peers.

CPIndex is primarily an index with loads of other resources, the listing is just one feature.

Your inclusion on a public directory is free on our basic package and very easy to create. The free basic package is comparable to a paid subscription elsewhere. If you want more features, our full package costs less than you would pay elsewhere, and includes much more than just a listing.

Counsellors are experienced professionals with knowledge that would be of high value to other counsellors. CPIndex offers a space to showcase your CPD, group work or products, to your target audience either public or professional.

Yes, a basic listing is free. It is free because we are stronger together and the more counsellors who list on CPIndex, the more likely we are to rank near the top of web searches for counselling.

No, but you can choose to upgrade to a full membership.

When you choose to upgrade, you will get a more detailed and customisable personal page, plus extra features* which are exclusive for members.

When clients or peers click through to your full profile page, they find your individuality and more reasons to choose to contact you. There is more about your training, your approach, your client rooms, availability and the ways to reach you, including your business logo, professional body logos and photographs of you and the places you work. You can customise the look of your page with lots of different options and with our Bio builder all the work of making the page is taken care of.

We are still working out our pricing, and we will publish it in full before we ask anyone to pay for anything. What we can tell you now is that the basic listing is free, and that our intention (for everything above it) is to give you considerably more for your money than the options currently available.

When someone searches, they set the parameters, usually distance from a postcode. Every counsellor who fits and is accepting new clients has an equal chance of appearing near the top. The order holds steady for twenty-four hours, then shuffles, so over time the visibility is shared out rather than bought. There is no top spot for sale. We also show therapists who work remotely.

CPIndex will have something for all counsellors, even if they are not in private practice. There is a full professional directory, where you can find peers and other useful resources.

Instead of listing thirty-plus issues like everyone else, your directory listing carries your most relevant three.

So, when someone is looking for help with their concern, they will not find a wall of identical lists. The three presenting concerns are changeable, and you will have full control to change these anytime you choose.

When they click through your profile page, they will see the full range of presenting concerns you said you work with.

No. Our pages are not static and will move regularly. And because we present your top three presenting issues on every card, potential clients can scan for someone who works with their concern. You can change the concerns that you work with, but our limitation of three on the list itself prevents the ‘everyone ticks everything’ problem. Once they click through to your page, they can see more detail about what you work with.

If you are qualified and currently registered with a professional body, you are in. Rather than deciding for ourselves which bodies count, we go by the Professional Standards Authority and the statutory regulators. Between them they cover the registers counsellors and psychotherapists belong to.

A free listing takes between ten and thirty minutes. A fuller listing takes around two hours, because there is more of you in it.

No. There is no exclusivity. We are standalone or stand together.

CPIndex is so much more than a directory; in fact, we feel the listing is an additional benefit, not the main one. Our mission is to fill the gaps that therapists and coaches face in this field.
